About Me

I am an Indigenous 2 Spirit proud member of the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek First Nation in Northern Ontario.

I created Pet-a-Goose.ca, an online store to order personalized marketing & promotional materials. Being very proud of my culture I had an artist friend create depictions of the 7 Grandfather teachings from the Ojibway culture. I am using these 7 Teachings to both showcase Pet-a-Goose printing abilities as well as reminding myself daily on how to live 'The Good Life" 🙇‍♀️🙇

I am creative by nature and am surrounded by artistically talented people.  We can print straight from the pics and text you want or we can get creative and modify some pics to create something unique  đź‘¨â€ŤđźŽ¨

Shoot me a message with what you are thinking and together we can create something unique for you

About PET-A-GOOSE

Why the Name?

My mom would tell me stories and told me that when the Indian agent came to the Whitefish Lake Indian Reserve documenting & assigning its' residents my great grandparents Dada and JoJo were passing through.

They were nomadic and it was berry picking season in the Sudbury area. The name Petahtegoose was given as there is a Ojibway word biidaadgaa meaning "from across the water" which my great grandparents responded when asked their names and it was interpreted by the Indian agent as Petahtegoose.

My grandmother Mary (we called Grand-Mary) was born to Dorothy Kenoshimeg on Manitoulin Island. She was educated by the nuns in Pembroke to become one of the 1st certified Indigenous teachers.

My grandfather (the most handsome eligible bachelor)Paul was the son of JoJo and DaDa and worked in lumber and mining.

Married in 1937 they settled in a one room log cabin on Whitefish Lake, later moving to "Old Depot" now known as Naughton to be closer to the lumber mill.

Kait Matthews - Kait was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and is of Ojibwe/Potowatomi heritage.  She is an artist and illustrator and graduated from the Laguna College of Art and Design, and currently resides in North San Diego County with her partner and their four-legged rescues. I met Kait in 1988 in downtown Toronto where I managed a restaurant/bar and Kait was my bartender. Kait was a combination of my 2 sisters Amy and Merva, and as a (then) young 2 Spirited person missing my big sisters I fell in love and gained a new sister. Kait has generously supported me in everything I do and has been very (VERY) generous in developing these graphics representing the 7 teachings for me to use exclusively, helping me present my own creations.
